Located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Boggo Road Gaol was one of the most notorious prisons of the Twentieth century. But most of its secrets are yet to be revealed. The former prison has reopened as a cultural-heritage tourist attraction. Through historical tours, historical re-enactments and immersions, educational experiences, functions and events - complimented by the presence of the prison players - the drama and stories of human beings, their failings and their achievements, within the walls of Boggo Road Gaol, are brought to life. The history of Boggo Road Gaol tour tells of the dramatic escapes in the 1980s, infamous inmates, lifers, riots, roof top protests, the daily lives of prisoners and the duties of officers. The 90 minute guided tour through heritage listed Number Two Division is child friendly and includes time to explore one of the original cellblocks. Escape the 21st century. Bookings are essential.

Boggo Road Gaol (BRG) are rarely cancelled and would only be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (see below). Please note BRG reserves the right to cancel a tour without notice. Refunds are granted solely at the discretion of BRG Tour Coordinator. Unforeseen circumstances include but are not limited to - sick staff member staff unavailability injury or unexpected dangerous weather conditions an emergency/dangerous situation. If a tour booking is cancelled by a visitor or if any member of the tour group cancels the following policies apply: BRG must be advised of any change in group numbers in writing by the person who booked the tour. Cancellation 0-5 working days of tour date – No refund granted. Cancellation 5–10 working days of tour date – 50% refund granted (excluding credit card/booking fees). Note: Failure to attend the actual tour for any reason is deemed to be a cancellation. Refunds will not apply. If a tour is cancelled by BRG the following policies apply: Cancellation prior to the tours commencement /before 2/3 of the tour is complete due to unforeseen circumstances* (see above) - tour will be rescheduled & visitors will be transferred to another tour of the same value as soon as possible. BRG will contact clients promptly to make arrangements.
