You can start your QLD city visit with one of the walking tours of Brisbane’s inner precincts as you learn about the Aboriginal and colonial heritage of the region, the art and history of the city, its architecture and idiosyncrasies. You might prefer something more indulgent like a tour of the shopping gems to be revealed or go sampling the food highlights from chocolates to pastries, cafes and cocktails. Inner city tours aren’t always on foot. You can join a cycling tour around the riverside bikeways or power along on a Segway.
The Brisbane River weaves its serpentine path through the city. Embark on a leisurely river cruise for a relaxing way to enjoy the scenery and get your bearings. Other cruises will take you out into Moreton Bay and over to the islands including North Stradbroke and Moreton Island, home to Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort where day trip guests can participate in the nightly ritual of hand feeding dolphins in the wild as these beautiful creatures come into shore to engage with humans – and get some fish!
During the winter and spring months whale watching cruises embark daily from Brisbane to see pods of magnificent humpback whales make their annual migration from Antarctica to the warm waters off the Queensland coast. Yes, even whales know how good Queensland is and they take their annual holiday here for some winter sunshine!
Discover the fertile countryside and national parks west and south of the city, visit boutique wineries on a helicopter food and wine tour, and spend the day in rainforest hinterland – part of the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. If you love getting active on a holiday then we have tours for bushwalking, scuba diving, go karting, hot air ballooning, sailing and cycling.
Whatever your interests we can help make your Brisbane city break more memorable when you book a tour, an attraction or activity to add to your Queensland visit.
